Join the debate
In addition to giving your views on our Join the Debate page, the The Responsible Nano Forum hope to hold a number of debates and events - if you would like to join in, or put up your own ideas by commenting on each page.
We also hope to work with governments, scientists, businesses and campaign groups to inspire them to involve the public in their own deliberations.
There may be a number of ways to get involved:
Nano Cafe’s - discussions in cafe’s or pubs where specific nano issues are discussed for example: ‘Nano in our food,’ or ‘Do we want to know what we’ll die of..?’
Meet the scientist days - have a look in side some of the UK’s leading nano laboratories in companies or universities and meet the scientists and see it all for yourself
On-line debates - real time debates on line where you can grill the experts or participate in debates about important issues where your opinion will count
Citizen’s Jury’s - a process of finding out what people think by holding a mock trial about on a specific subject. Which? held one on Nanotechnologies in Cosmetics for example.
Meetings and consultations held by governments, research councils and businesses - these are meetings or workshops (or some of the above) where public involvement is encouraged to help shape the direction of research or views on aspects of public policy are requested.
