What is corporate responsibility?

Corporate responsibility describes how a company behaves and how it demonstrates it’s responsibilities to society and to the people who it comes into contact with - usually its employees, customers, shareholders, suppliers and the community.

It used to be about it’s charity work but now corporate responsibility covers a broad range of a company’s activities - from how it treats its employees and the claims it makes about its products, to where it pays it’s taxes and the human rights impact of its buying policies on its suppliers.
