The new carbon nanotube-based plastics will see rapidly increasing use in many sporting goods, and functional and smart coatings and devices for clothing are just beginning to be developed.
New sensors are being developed which can monitor things much more sensitively and more accurately, where chips with nano-circuitry are employed. These devices might be tracking performance against pulse rate, or might be detecting how better to catch wind in yacht sails.
